I like the sound of the sds max, the breaker is overkill a lot of the time

And I've just had a look at the Erbauer breaker, looks a much better machine for the money

A beaver pack doesn't have as much oomph as a modern electric big Hilti. They are kind of obsolete in my opinion.

For occasional use, the Erbauer screwfix breaker has much better anti vibes than the Titan. It's OK for the odd small slab, although not a patch on a £2-3k Makita or Hilti obviously. But realistically, anything more than half an hour's pecking about and I fetch the Sherpa or micro.

It depends which Angie and gun you are running as to power. The standard guns aren't the best. Stanley guns are better than JCB. Also they are a lot more robust. As good as a hilti is it would not put up with the way hydraulic guns get treated.

I was using a 30l/min Terex gun and pack, which I think became Stanley? Still naff compared to a pecker on a micro. Guess they are handy for utilities gangs though.

Oh yeah if you have room for a machine then machine every time. Bit it's extra kit to park on site so when space is a premium then a beaver pack is it definitely useful. And it doesn't require any tickets or particular skills. Ours are all fitted tarmac cutters aswell rather than points. Not only are they quick in tarmac but also once dull won't usually damage utilities

I didn’t realise I could get a much longer point for my sds ,I have knackered that one in the past digging post holes where the motor has been too deep in the hole & the cooling fan starts sucking crap in.
I have ordered another scheppach breaker as the last one has been ok apart from leaking oil every where & it has 60 joules of impact energy which was a fair bit more than the Titan which has 45. As for vibration I hope to not be using it enough to worry about it.

Don't know how Screwfix etc get away with selling Titans and all the others that look like they come out of the same Chinese factory, they can't conform to any standards regarding vibration, trouble is a decent alternative is about ten times the price, people think they are working well because they make a lot of noise, i hired a nice Hilti that did more work, quieter and far less vibration.

Aimed at the DIY market, the hav figures are there but they are terrible.

You'll need to worry about as it's literally minutes with those cheap ones. If you have employees they will get vwf and claims can be high

Makita hm1812 is 30kg and around 1k with 3 year warranty, it's what I have and does the job, similiar figures to the hilti but a third of the cost.

This was a calc from a while ago but you get what you pay for

I've got a Makita hm1202c and it's brilliant with a 600mm chisel or a clay spade.
The Chinese ones may say 25 Newton's but they don't hit as hard as 21 newton Makita.
