Branded Workwear

Whats peoples thoughts on workwear branded up with your company logo etc ?

How do people perceive it when you go look at a job, professional or bloody hell this is going to be expensive ?

Also any recommendations for a company who does decent clothing with your logo etc ?

Think it looks professional and I mostly wear it.builder customer supplies all his men with it too.allways get people think you are earning too much if you are a professional and keep stuff clean and tidy.ive had a few over the years complain but I tell them what I think too and they are wellcome to get someone with a dirty bashed about and worn out machine towed behind a knackered transit if they desire.what it is with people not wanting to have good stuff.

I think it shows if you want your employees to look neat and respectable you would do a neat and respectable job
Plus it just looks great seeing vehicles machines and uniforms matching
Shows the company takes pride in what they do
Without that it sometimes looks like you don't want to put your name to the work

Always had company workwear from a local place. They’ve got my font details on file so literally a quick call to tell them what item/size I need and it’s done. I have some hoodies that are 5/6years old and still pretty decent!

I’ve seen a “workwear express” advert online a few times recently with their bundle deals that don’t seem bad price wise, no idea on quality mind?

Branded polo and insist on no trackies minimum. If someone turns up with branded I think this is a guy that's got something in order ..but I think you can go a bit ott?
Then again best builder I know has nowt branded and just a line of black text on his 7.5t and I'd trust him with anything so..

Someone said to me the other day - smart wagon and diggers etc but you look like a pikey and it doesnt match, so I though I might have a look at branded kit instead of my assortment of knackered motorbike shirts

Branded polos / hoodies / hats and hi vis. All machines / vans sign written i personally think it gives of the right impression.

We use a local company to us, as mentioned before once theyve got you set up on file one quick phone call and its sorted you could out source it to a national company but i think you loose the personal touch i always like to put money back into local business.

Blokes on site is one thing but small outfits like me , boss turns up to look at a job and better they are smart I reckon

I keep my kit very clean and organised .... just myself needs a bit of a look at

all branded workwear and tidy gear may give a good impression to none construction related customers, working on site can be a different matter i think.
i have seen more untidy looking guys do brilliant work that does not need going back to and putting right than guys looking immaculate with all new branded workwear on that left untidy rough work, i realise making a good impression can only be a good thing, but the guys doing the work especially groundwork related stuff cant always be sparkling like a new pin.
some of the best guys i have worked with have looked not far off being tramps, but their work and work ethic has been great and were always ready to do that bit extra on really tricky jobs or conditions. appearances can be wildly deceptive i have found, and the saying dont judge a book by its cover, i think is spot on.

I understand what your saying and groundworks always used to be like that but i would rather see someone wearing branded work wear thats dirty and ripped then seeing someone wearing there old favorite going out tshirt from 2015 but each to there own

My mam bought me 5 polos with company name on for last birthday. I've not even got them out the bag! I almost feel embarrassed to wear a polo with my own company name on just feels weird. Also I don't really seek out work from public or other companies so appearance has never really mattered in that sense.

yes i get that maybe its different if its your guys doing your work etc i guess i am looking at it from an oldtimers point of view, where as now corporate image type thing somehow seems to be the most important part of the job especially where everything has to be hi vis and safety type clothing anyway. plus i have always worked for others so it would be no gain for me. the machine i used was signwritten so thats branding in a way i guess.

used to wear shp polos etc but got bored in the end. The lads wear stuff though which I feel is right given they get in a mess

Never had time to get anything branded.. I just make sure it’s work trousers- black or Hiviz , job dependant and a polo shirt or a branded T-shirt (Engcon/jcb/etc) save the old skateboard T-shirt’s for working at home
No machines are stickerd up anymore either, I prefer them fully outa the factory new look.

I went branded last year, nothing crazy just some t-shirts, small logo on chest nothing more. I think it looks professional and as I try to come across like I know what I'm doing, it gives the right impression. Clean kit works too. I've won work before from other contractors on sites who have seen how I keep my kit, do my work and generally present myself and I've gone on to work for them on other projects.
I'm not saying the tshirt directly won me work, but as Dave puts it, its better than the old skateboard tshirt and every little helps.

I use a local company for my stuff, as others have said, once you're logo is in their system its dead easy to reorder. My local place has samples there so you can see if the more expensive material is worth it or not. And like Danny says, they put your order up on their facebook page etc - its free local advertising! Gotta support each other.
