boom position when parking /storing

Hi All - is there any technical reason an excavator cannot be parked with its boom in the 'up' position or is it always standard practice to have the bucket/boom resting on the floor. the question is in relation to a shed we are building for the digger and your answer will determine the length of the shed (boom up = shorter shed) (boom always down = longer shed)

Simple answer is they creep down when left.

Make sure it is high enough to get in and long enough to park it properly!!
Don’t ask how I am qualified to give this advice!!

As above the machine should be parked so nothing will move if a ram settles but also so the minimum amount of chrome is on show to protect it.

I like everything safely on the floor, less to bang your head on at 5am in the pitch black when you can’t be bothered to switch the lights on………

I thought it was compulsory to park telehandlers with the forks at forehead height

It seems more comfortable for it

At least it's easy for the grab lorry to get to it
