Bobcat Bush seals

I’ve got a set of bucket pins and bushes to replace, however these seem to have O-rings and some sort of retaining rings on the outside. Should these just knock out to allow bush removal? Are they a one use kind of seal I need to get from bobcat?

Just there to keep grease in and crap out (might be the other way round). They are one use as you’d be lucky to get them out and back in without destroying them. One looks about knackered already.

Yep they are a grease seal, you should be able to get them from Bobcat. I replaced a set lately and the bushes where tight in there. They wouldn't move much with a blunt chisel. I used a die grinder to cut a slit in the Bush first.

Yeah there looks to be a bit of history, I’ll get some new ones ordered when dealer re-opens.

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
exactly the same only bronze in the Cranab I did earlier in the year ... O ring machined into the bush about 2mm in from the end of the bush .... keep the grease in/crap out ... few bollo-ed on the cranab ... I'll just keep it well greased .... can imagine they'm a pricey bush ... if I could find any ..... could make some now I have the Harrison if I can find some thick wall bronze tube stock (y) ........ but for the amount of use it'llget these days ... plenty of grease'll do for now :giggle:

No, these are hardened steel, thin walled bushes. The seal is a proper dust seal mounted in the end of the boss. The seal O.D is bigger than the Bush O.D and the boss has a recess

ah right ...... so basically an oil seal inserted in the boss's bore and the bushes are shorter than the boss to allow for their insertion .... would've thought you could find some of the seals easy enough with the dimensions
