In the perfect world you'd only ever use a breaker stood up vertically. Digger handbooks always show it this way for example. Obviously we all know that in the real world it doesn't work like this but i think if you were to make it so you could use it like that it wouldn't do machine any good long term. You only need a little weight from machine on a breaker when using it ( not arm pushing down and tracks 2 ft off ground like clowns you see) but the way you're proposing you'd need to be pushing against it all the time which isn't ideal. If you can't pull wall over first or knock it to bits from top down i find if you clean found off and angle breaker in at bottom of wall at 45 to the found you can usually loosen wall and then pull it over to knock it to bits.Fiiine.... I'll spend today making the top hat for my breaker that's still in the packing crate....
Whilst I'm at it- can anyone think of any downsides to having the pin angles so that you can present the breaker at 90° to a wall? I've mocked it up and the gemoetry is such that in normal use you never dead end the crowd ram and can still hold carry it tucked in under the arm.
I'm guessing the reason you never see them like that is because they really need to be made to fit the machine. Having pins like this is really useful on a grab to hold things vertically, any reason why not to have similar on a breaker?View attachment 22007
I hear you- this is so it could be used if the situation dictates, ie. internal demolition with a micro. It will also help with being able to angle breaker in at 45° as you say, but without having to have the digger in one exact spot or dead ending the ram. Standard hitch plates give loads of angle back to you (which you have no use to) but very little away from you. I assume you mean 90° away from you depending on the hose layout you would have to be carefull of the hoses one of the important things is being able to lay it down on its back for removal/removal of hoses not as important on small machines as you can reach the qfits but on a big machine it has to be tucked well under so the fittings aren't above head levelFiiine.... I’ve got a pro tech p180 on 3/5 ton mounting, and a 500kg kinghitter on tractor but the driving cup is handy for smaller jobs or doing post retaining walls.I'd save your effort and buy proper post knocker. Worse than useless on that size machine, and that's the voice of experience talking.
