these things are popping up in various places around the town ... and are being used to monitor traffic offences (no right turn at one junction which is abused constantly) ... the system is also being used to monitor speed too, now there is a virtually blanket 20mph in the town AND parking violations - few people have had tickets in the post with photographic evidence of the offence  digi-traffic wardens

the cycle lane in question just doesn't get used .... the road's been one way - the other way - for 30 odd years ....

the money'd be so much better spent, repairing the bloody roads, that VED payers contribute, to have them kept in a usable condition.
Pedestrianised virtually the entire length of the main drag through the town and need a few of these things to nick the bloody cyclists who abuse and constantly weave through the pedestrians ..

looks like this is the tip of the ice berg as far as the company running this are concerned .... keep your eyes peeled locally people

Fully agree (y) Bradford in Yorks is one of the worst places on this planet yet had 3 lanes to queue in to get there. Now it's down to two for cars and one for bikes and it's totally unused. Ffs, who makes this stuff up and we're paying their wages 😅

pikeys seem to think any old plate will do
If everyone in the UK took there plates off tomorrow we'd see the government panic. IMHO best thing we could do as a nation is change the rules so each individual has a Numberplate to there name, rather than the vehicle..... government runs the insurance scheme as a tax.... Job done.

That does seem to be bit of a wild and exaggerated comment, they do realise that the plate off an electric vehicle gives the faithful old transit free access to all areas 😉

Quite how law enforcement seems unable to spot a Nissan leaf in it's transit disguise is another question all together 😆

apparently 50 odd people have been 'invited' to attend informative courses for being observed exceeding 20mph in the last week, several fines issued for failing to observe traffic signage (no right turn) and they've 'observed' half a dozen untaxed vehicles, who've been invited to 'cough up':rolleyes:

big brother is watching ----- even more

after crawling the two odd miles out of town at 20mph, last week, after a shopping hit, I doubt i will be enduring that again ... like many others in the town have already stated ... " we'll be shopping elsewhere " ...... especially with the new stasi cameras installed 🤬🤬

Get an electric bike, no number plate, no tax, no fuel, no insurance ,no mot, less fatness, play them at their own game.
Obviously no good for work but when you're just carrying yourself?

Even better, give them what they want, don't go to town. Move out if you live there - take your business to where it is wanted and bankrupt them.

talking to Paul, our local Hermes guy, yesterday, the entire town is furious about the imposition of these 20 limits, by a small group of know nothings, posing as local councillors ... no public consultation ... just took it upon themselves to do it  ... and now the Stasi cameras are yet another 'edict from on high' that will take one more step to killing the town off.
Paul lives a 1/4 mile outside the limits and he intends to shop anywhere, but Aber. . We have a few other places within striking distance from us .... and we'll be using them.:mad:

I agree, a bit like covid lockdowns, one gets away with it so everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Out of town and local shopping seems to be the answer. I live about half way between Soutampton and Portsmouth and haven't visited either to shop in at least five years and then only to go to Ikea or John Lewis in Southampton and I don't expect to go back any time soon. Same for my local town of Fareham. They act like they don't want my business so I don't go there. There are still plenty of stores and the internet. Supermarket less tha 2 miles or out of town shopping 2 motorway junctions all seem happy to take my money - cash as well. Why put yourself through the hassle? Why support the idiots who want to make your life harder and stealth tax you extra for your wasted time or fines for breaking some petty rule?

**** it .... I just won't bother to patronise the town any more .... put a lot into the local economy for 30 odd years and a reasonable amount of employment, to say nothing of the service we used to provide to hundreds ... **** it - end of :mad:

I'm quite amazed you lot have any shops to visit. Town centres round here seem to consist of charity shops restaurants and barbers. Rare to see much else on the high street and even more rare to find anything with any stock

Local towns may have got to that stage. As I don't go there I don't know, but they deserve to fold given how they try to drive customers away.

Aber.'s the same ... just go for the food shop every 2.5 / 3 weeks .... every thing else arrives in a van/truck off the 'net .... would food shop online if it wasn't for the 'sub.s', if they ain't got stuff (never any good) and Pam's coeliac - they never seem to be able to get it into their heads that wheat products are off the menu
as for all the bloody charity shops, paying zero rates, selling new products, competing against every one else and the stupido prices they want to try and charge for s/h stuff they've been given  ... used to like a mooch about in 'em .. good for working shirts/jeans .... not any more ... cheaper to buy new from M&S
