Best way to remove footing?

No Druid, large quantity of bang and you get broken concrete and an empty trench all in one go


Joking aside there are several low explosive products on the market that are great at breaking stuff like this up without vibration or ‘fly rock’ . Not a lot of cop in heavily reinforced concrete though. 600 wide, 800 deep by 9m long would all be out I a day.

in 1980 I worked for a company which amongst other things sold Tiretrac chains for loading shovels ... couple of days a month I'd gotten roped into servicing these bloody things ... (patience required to repair them).
Rocked up at Vaynor quarry above Merffa one morning ..... not a window in sight intact in the offices/workshops/any where on site ???
thought it was odd as I'd gotten close ... windows boarded up in houses all over - thought there'd been a riot .. was Merffa after all



anyway ... transpired that some handy sod had dumped a VERY large lump in a Euc .... who in turn had deposited it in the crusher jaws ... 'sone mutha of a crusher ... and it had come to a blinding halt
the bang team surveyed it and decided they could shatter it without killing the crusher jaws.
it was drilled and charged ... etc. and duly detonated .......
bit of an error apparently in the calc.s ...... it blew the roof of the crusher building, cladding, purlins, support beams, wholesale, half a mile up into the quarry (fortunately) and not into Merffa (not as you'd notice much ) and took out every window for several hundred yards about.

when the dust settled and everyone surfaced from their hiding places ..... said rock was still there .... and they had to go again

That’s similar stuff to the name I posted but the one you linked to is twice the price because it auto stems. That means you don’t need to back fill the shot hole with a bit of damp sand tamped in place before you press the bang button.

At about 10 quid extra a cartridge I know which I prefer.

Yeh, thought it might of been, it just rang a few bells when you put it up, but was unsure of the exact details between the products. Just remember the name because there was a lot of publicity around them using it on an old RAF base a showing how much more productive it was. Going back a few years now though.
