He is genuinely about to explode and rightly so.

If (probably when) he comes out with the full details you'll be disgusted but the simple reality is he's suffering from spending a lot of money with a company that operate using excuses rather than results.

Having been involved with other people's JCBs rust and paint is and has for a long time been a major issue. The usual excuse is to blame it on the "oh that's a brought in component".

The X series was the best 20t machine I've operated. And bang for buck was fantastic.... But it has the paintwork quality of an anchor. 🙁

Very sad for Ollie as he was utterly stoked about his 4cx.....

the very early js machines were good but in reality they were badged sumitomo not tried an x series and hardly likely to now retired. jcb paint and quality control are crap the later 3cx were pale comparisons to the older models grey cab project seven and later project 12 i think were the best of the backhoes. a bit sad to see how bad the jcb name has become. if i had the money and need for one i would not give jcb my money thats for certain.

What's been interesting about the last 48hrs since I posted that reel, is the amount of DM's I've had from people with all kinds of brands of machines who are suffering poor paint and bad backup. This is by far not just a JCB issue it seems.
I don't think any of us should stand for it. If we start a barrage of warranty claims for poor paint, it might wake some of these manufacturers up!
It doesn't help the salesman sell another machine.
It doesn't help residual values
It doesn't help us as the customer
And it certainly doesn't help the manufacturers reputation. So why do it?

Extremely frustrating... especially when it's your dream investment of a lifetime type thing . Absolutely crap😑.

And yet it can be done ..that's what's annoying. I've a 8 year old TB216 that's spent it's life on Dartmoor...(Ignore Rory)😬 And now dampest lancs ...And was just admiring it's paint job this week. Absolutely mint even the odd scratch it's not blown or gone mad which is testament to the prep and quality of the workmanship at factory. Only rust is where it's had a grinder taken to it. Or the top loops.

Not being funny, I've a 8 year old Takeuchi with rust..... Sadly.

I’ve ran a 3cx all my working life(minus last 9yrs), i could probably build a full new machine out of warrenty claim parts I’ve had on them…

Must admit cat never came out to any of our 432 or 428. We had new speakers fitted in the 432d under warranty but they rang us to offer it not us complaining.
