I think it is definitely the original panel
I’ve tried to post a video of the light sequence from turning the key through start-up to revving the engine. The red light on the bottom seems to illuminate when the motor is revved.

Have you checked the air filter / air filter sensor as the dash in the link has a light for a air filter sensor and your dash seems to have a few less bulbs

Generally red lights are either alternator, oil pressure or water temp on basic set ups.

Going by dash set up on other ausa dumpers they have red warning lights for high engine temp and blocked air filter, if comes on when revved could be blocked air filter

As above. A light coming on when revved is usually air filter. Pull the filter and see if the light goes away. If not then pull the sensor also.

just to confuse the issue ..... the charge light on me Countax mower only lights when it's revved, signifying charge -- arse about face to convention

Not air filter. Tried it without any filter at all and with a new filter element - still the red light comes on when I rev it.

Have you tried disconnecting the sensor? Just to be sure?
maybe try that with all the sensors, disconnect them one by one, whilst it’s running, see if it goes off?
