Evening plant talkers..... looking at opinions on.....

Anyone running a hookloader for......
1, moving plant on a plant bed
2, RoRo skips

Whether rental purposes or companies own use ?

Any trouble with turning up to overloaded skips ?

Moving 5-8ton machines sat inside a RoRo skip to save on transport when having to shift muck on jobs ?

Plenty of places to tip muck ?

3 axle vs 4 axle ?

Leaving RoRo skips roadside and Damaging Pavements etc ?

Just gone down this road my self
I’ve only had the lorry 6 months but slowly sorting it out.
The trailer hasn’t got a mot on yet so haven’t been using it.
The bins are a bit tight inside because I’ve got a auto sheet on the side they can’t be as wide as the lorry, I tried putting a 7ft wide wood chipper in there yesterday & it wouldn’t go in the bin because the tracks would sit on the tipping angles we didn’t want to scratch it down the side.
I’ve had to make a detachable rear bar on the 30yd bin & welded strapping down points inside & it is handy but I’m can’t wait to get the trailer sorted because that’ll easier to move kit & have a load in the bin.
Today I’ve got 2 loads of wood chip from a job 40mins away but I also need the digger back to go to different job tomorrow so after work I have to run back down with the beavertail to pick it up but if I had the trailer it would save a trip.
The digger is 4.4m or 14.6 foot in the bin so if you’re down the little lanes like I am I spend most of my time dodging low branches.

Local firm round here smashed a cab up on js 130 moving it on a 8 wheeler beavertail because low trees & that is a lot lower than a hook lift

Give people a clue as to what reasonable means to you!!
You might find a few are interested.
What test is on it and does it come with any bins??

It’s tested till may I think, I do have a bin that can go with it but it’s not a good one.

I run this merc 19t - for moving our kit and aggregates/muck away - 10t + payload with skip on and fits anywhere.
Its only a 5m skip but 8tonner goes on o.k.

It's a nice looking truck that should sell well at that. The truck market is cooling significantly with the reintroduction of the Road HGV levy (*****).

Stuff with no MOT is basically scrap money and unfortunately the older Dafs are mostly shot in the cabs..... Just spending alot of money ATM having mine welded up.

However I am noticing more people after analogue tachos and older simpler lorries
