Shouldn't do. Just do it up tight when you put the bucket on.

My builder customer has one on his 216 takeuchi.its great but I continually worry about the pipes bursting.where they go in to the ram they are bent back on themselves in a tight u and I’m suprised we not had a burst.machine done about 160 hours.its great to use as I can stay on seat and change buckets more easily than keep getting out like i have too on the manual version on my volvo

I’ve had these hitches on now 4 Volvo machines,3 at 1.5 ton and other on my 25 and never had one come loose.have wore out the ratchet spanner though

My E19 is the same, but it is what it is. You want hydraulic hitch on such a small machine, the pipework routing will be tight.They should be made out of a thermoplastic pipe of a small gauge, so actually quite a bit of flex capability.
It's better to have them flexed tight than risk pinching in my view, that's how I set mine up.

Same here. Got Harfords on both my taks and they come loose all the time.. not bad hitches, but little point having a self tightening wedge of it ends up coming looser than a standard semi hitch.

As long as the bend and stress is away from the sewage, they’ll last okay. Just keep an eye on them for fretting. 1/4” will stand tight radii.

I didn’t ask the notoriously unhelpful Kirstie! I got hold of a helpful guy called Chris . He told me there is a locking nut that needs tightened . If it comes loose then the hitch can loosen apparently . I will take bucket off tomorrow and have a look . If I figure it out I will put a pic up off it.

Got bmc manual 1 not come loose yet and tightened on the rear so much quicker than Harford 1

Yeah I'd be interested to know. I've had mine in bits several times, there's a little grub screw that keeps the thread clamped on to the bit that drives the wedge. Had that come loose and instead of driving the wedge the thread just unscrewed when using the ratshit. The one on the little digger has also self combusted (not literally) and required disassembling etc. Would I buy again, no probably not, but they do the job I guess..

Mine comes loose with with the brand new bucket but thought the whole point of the wedge is that it takes the slack out of any wear?

I`ve found with the wedge type hitchs compaired to a spring or hydraulic type, if the is any muck or grit on the pins or in the jaw when it is tightened, it initally clamps tight, but the muck washes out/works it way out/ crushes down and falls out, the hitch is slack, where the spring or hydraulic one tightens up a bit up.

Long dipper , twin hitch and counter weight by the looks of it .
