I’m considering the makita gun, contrary to my thoughts on just using a traditional hand pump gun.
Same question , newer jcb cartridges fit / remove on them okay?

You know there's a world out there where greasing a machine and changing cartridges doesn't involve airlocks and getting covered in grease (and before you say where gloves they aren't required)

I don't have any problems with just the standard grease gun that came with my Tak. Doesn't air lock and doesn't seem to s**t itself like some others. I'm far too tight to go spending 100 plus quid on a battery one only to then forget to have fully charged battery's with me all the time.

Anyone using battery grease guns ? What’s working well without air locking all the time ?
one would be handy for greasing drivetrain and steering . I want to be able to hold head on nipple with a bit of force and pull the trigger at the same time
I bought a Makita grease gun awhile ago. It seems to be okay. I’ve had a few issues with it basically don’t screw on the end too tight, it’s not a good idea just causes issues, you can get different ends that clip on the grease nipples no need for holding it on saves a lot of time and hassle.
I think they’re all pretty much the same unless you go off brand, to be fair. Did a lot of research awhile ago just went for a Makita one because I have lots of tools that are ready Makita so saves on batteries

The new Makita is the best IMO. Much faster than the Milwakuee M18, and the M12 is a right slug in comparison to that. The Yanks get a 2-speed Milwaukee which looks decent, ours is crap.

I have trimmed that stupid lip out of my Makitas, successfully, so the tube dies not get stuck in the barrel. I know it’s easy to say don’t screw it in too far, but with multiple people potentially refilling them it just seemed easier to modify it. Mind you, maybe I shouldn’t have bothered as they always seem empty when I pick one up….

I've had no problem with multiple different catridges in mine.

Know what you mean about being empty... funny how it must have been just enough to grease the last machine totally properly:mad:
