Well, not new, but a decent digger.
Around the 3 ton mark, but bigger will be considered as once it’s here it won’t be going anywhere.
What’s the ones to consider and which ones are to be avoided.
It won’t be used for anything too heavy, just general work around the paddock/smallholding.

Will this be the only machine at the small holding ? If it is What’s the biggest machine you can get away with? If you think you can go bigger and still do all the smaller jobs then that’s the way to go . You’ll get so much more use out of a bigger digger especially if it’s staying put .

Apologies for late replies, phone had logged me out and didn’t get notifications
Budget wise around £10K, but always happy to go higher for right machine.
I mentioned 3 ton as that’s towable and can get up the lanes where I live, but I’m sure bigger machines can be considered, obviously not huge monsters.

3 ton isn't towable. 2.5-2.7 is your max legal towable. If you don't NEED to tow it then a bigger machine more bang for your buck.

Have a look at the the machine that one of the forum members was offering. A kx61-3 for £12k plus vat.

I might be selling this in a couple of months as I could do with a 5-6 tonner if a certain job comes off. I’ve had it from new2014, 2400 hours,nearly new tracks,six buckets and ripper tooth. Only bad bits,could do with a new manual hitch and boom ram seeps(does’nt drop) but I have the seal kit...

I was going to say “new” that’s not a commonly used word in the modern world!

Cheers guys, but the machine went yesterday. Px with a dealer I know well against a u55, will post a picture when it arrives this week.
