Good morning All, We currently have a 2015 Kubota KX080-4, its done 4300hrs and our groundworker has looked after it meticulously since new. We are starting a new site where we are providing the plant but wont be operating and looking for a second hand machine of the same size. Our groundworker has never had any issues with the Kubota so we were potentially looking to get the same but would be open to suggestions if anyone thought there were better machines for the money or even if someone could recommend a more cost effective machine. We will use it for 18 months then look to re sell so want to hold value as best as possible. I thank you for any help you can give.

after 18 months of self drive hire it'll probably be fit for the skip ..... hope you're gonna be charging like a wounded rhino

For what you require you prob cant do any better than another 8t Kubota....chinese may be cheaper but break and have poor residuals - some 8t are undoubtedly better but its not an owner op situation so bomb proof with good residuals sounds very kubota'ish and you can keep the best buckets for yours and send the other out with whatevers left.

Takeuchi or cat would be where I’d be looking, but I see no problem with kubota. - fyi there is 27 kx080 in Leeds auction in afew weeks!

Tbh if it's only ever going to be a hire machine then Hitachi is the way to go. I don't think anything puts up with neglect and abuse like an Hitachi. Terrible seating position but smooth very powerful lifting and digging and the paint stays on them

But if the bloke knows the kubotas and already has one then surely he might as well stay with them for all sorts reasons

I remember a customer of mine has a 3.3t Hitachi. 10 yes old, 2500 hrs and NEVER been serviced. Still starts spot on and does a day's work.

Think either Tak or Kub will put up with the grief and still sell well at the end.
Or if you want a nice older machine buy my case cx75 (£25k with Kinshofer grab) of me, just don't tell me it's going on to self hire though!
