I’m terrible for it! I conduct as much work dealings through email as I can, it’s all documented who’s said what and it stops a lot of miscommunication!

And importantly gives a bit of time to consider a measures response otherwise before you know it you've agreed to do something you don't want to do

Can’t comment on the 3m ones but I have these and can’t fault them at all..

Yeah I've got a pair possibly an early version they are pretty good

Yeah they were ok, found them comfy wearing pretty much all day every day. The sound quality was ok but could never get them as loud as I wanted (guess it would be too ironic if your ear defenders ended up damaging your ears).

I replaced the ones in the pic with another pair, they gradually got quieter until they died.

Replaced with Hellbergs which again are ok but annoying niggles like stupid proprietary charger, stupid beep boop noises and stupidly they don't reconnect automatically when you walk out of range then come back.

I bought the Hellbergs as it looked like they'd be good for taking calls while working but I end up downing tools anyway, can't concentrate on more than one thing at a time or I make daft mistakes like running over my headphones!!

I'll probably try a different brand next once I've run over these ones

Yes, the early version (link 1.0) wasn’t limited, but link 2.0 is. Link 2.0 can take the boom mic though which is a godsend.

The volume is limited to what is a ‘safe’ level so I guess they had to really, bit of an oxymoron having ‘ear defenders’ that were able to cause more damage if you turned the music up!

I’d look at the noise cancelling muffs from the likes of Howard Leight. Shooters use them a lot- you can hear your mates talk but it keeps the gun report to a safe level.

The most popular ones I see on shooters are the 3M Peltor range which automatically reduce noise over 82db. I have ear plugs that do this and they are very effective for shooting, but you get full or even enhanced sound the rest of the time, so no good for damping down the noise of the grab lorry or digger.

Yeah have little shooting ones they have a little tube that comes out of the plug

Is there any research on the safety of having Bluetooth headphones on all day. I get that there are uhf rays floating around everywhere but to have so close to your head for prolonged periods??

Been trying these . Borrowed off a mate.
Ok but not great protection compared to Hellberg. But absolutely brilliant when winching etc. and handy as can swap onto different helmets easily.

None. Helmet mouted ones are my go to when it's pissing wet.
