Still quite a few in North East Scotland although there is a lot getting replaced with small ducks now. I have thought about getting a duck but would miss having the front bucket too much, a lot of the time on sites we’ll have a dumper between two squads and Sod’s law dictates that we both need it at the same time.

Don't see them much in the South. A mate has bought one, we tried it on a large garden job the other day, it was a touch wet and it was just hopeless. Horses for courses, much more a bulding site machine I feel.

I quite simply couldn’t justify one anymore! 65k vs 35k for a 6T mini , rates are there abouts the same and you use half the fuel on the mini!! For the same money as a 3cx I got a new 6T mini with Engcon and a 3yr old telehandler, combined they do far more than a 3cx ever could.

Backhoes still seem to be popular around here (NE Wales), quite a few owner drivers, and small firms still use them.

Yes. Far better with 6t tracked machine for most applications. 180s are still a very versatile machine in the right hands. Finding someone would be difficult

I washed it the other week. Then today stripped the interior out and steam cleaned it out. Theres still plenty of silage. Hay straw gease and s**t packed in underneath along the chassis rails.

I made mine dance and sing but when it just didn’t physically fit on over half of my jobs it had to go! I miss it’s versatility and transportation ease, thats about it.

Looking good there, its amazing how they clean up, also get some auto glym window polish it tranforms them, its one of the first jobs i always do. Keep an eye out for the plastic engine side panels too, There was one on ebay the other day.

Yes it is straight. The body work and running gear are good. Pins and bushes are worn

well the doors rot out and fall apart on the grey cabs Dylan, but the black cab N/S doors die regularly ... either the wind or an adverse slope and they slam shut with a curtain of glass shards ... I speak from experience ... and damn they take some replacing
made a polycarb one to fill the hole in mine when the glass shattered ... works well, keeps the weather out, but not so easy to see through as glass is
