What happened?
The house owner who chased them and ran into them spent life savings on barrister and got 22 months in prison,

The two scum bags plead guilty to going equipped got 2 year suspended and 200 hours community service because injury make prison hard for them! They were also found in stolen car with false plates and no insurance going equipped again after initial incident. One of them got a fine abd 6 month driving ban! Didn’t seem to trigger his suspended sentence though!

Lad was too honest in interview should have been more clever about it

The moral of the story is to say nothing more than ‘No comment’ if ever involved with the police. Seems to work well for total scumbags.
I wonder if the police would have been more lenient if not being under the direct scrutiny of the film crew?… They clearly felt sorry for the victim.
Why don’t law-abiding citizens get suspended sentences by the way - it seems to be totally standard for career crims?

Yes I believe his sentence was too high and those two, who on camera one admitted to 'you've just got to go out and get some money'.

It appears to me that Adam was interviewed at first without a solicitor, definitely think it's a case of have a solicitor present and no comment, works for all the others, if he hadn't said much early on, the two refused to give statement for fear of incriminating themselves.

So the robbers didn't even give any statement and the victim gave the police all the evidence they required to lock him up for 22 months? :ROFLMAO: Hoisted by his own petard!

Nah, just surrounded by a lot of old folk that talks in riddles 😝

This is turning into the Tony Martin case...but I doubt the justice system will care, they are more preoccupied with protecting pedo gangs. Britain is well and truly fked.

Have you seen how much has been raised on go fund me for him & his family?

Jack
Decent amount so far, hope it gets them back on their feet. Can’t replace the lost time in prison though, or the terminated pregnancy the wife went through, just a sad situation all round. Can’t believe 12 jurors found him guilty. Would love to see jury nulification happen more frequently in the UK but never will as the average public are braindead sheep.

Police present the case, crown prosecution decide wether to prosecute or not. My ex was solicitor for police checking cases before being handed to cps.

Jury have to decide on points of law not morality or fairness Not like the movies

Guy should have legged it and said they took his car crashed into each other escaping

Not so! The jury can nullify a case if the defendant is guilty of breaking the law but they don't agree that they should be convicted of it. A lot of people think its the judge or prosecutor that's the most powerful person in the court but its the juror, they decide the ultimate outcome.

excerpt from online:
as demonstrated in the case of Clive Pontin who breached the official secrets act by letting the public know about the sinking of the Belgrano during the Falklands conflict. (This ship was sunk by us in neutral waters and I believe when it was moving away and therefore no threat.) The judge ordered the jury to find Pontin guilty as he had clearly breached the act but the jury said the public had a right to know and found him not guilty.

But I do agree the guy should have legged it...but not said anything, keep his mouth absolutely shut, every word you say is something they can then prove or disprove against you. No comment absolutely every question! Also make sure your missus is well trained on it as well, no point in you saying nowt and she sings like a budgie! 🐤
