I used to carry one of these, incredibly handy and tough, but I lost it on site somewhere and as the companies I subbed for were getting really hot on knives (self retracting utility knives only - which are completely s**t) I didn't replace it.
Do you think these are also good as a hacker chisel? We each have 1 shitty old chisel we use for hacking work but this looks handier. I did buy a new lesser brand one for hacking but as its brand new I could never bring myself to use it and break it in 🤣 still in a toolbox unused. I'd probably be the same if I buy this 🤣

Worked for me - chiseling, hacking general abuse and at £9 i think you could risk it.

have had a lot of siccles in the last 50 odd years, since I was 17 and out of all of them, the one I liked most was, (I think I may have said this before?), my '78 XS500E Yammy and have been actively looking/keeping an eye open for a nice one for quite soooome time.
this one has popped up on FB MP along with its stable mate, an XS650 (which i'd also like - but !!) they're both in Crook, County Durham - a 280 mile each way trip and both a grand too dear IMHDO £2.5k and £4.5k respectively :(
the 5 has new tyres, new chain and sprockets an' 17k on the clock - about run in - down side is the bodywork has been 'wrapped' with a carbon fibre wrap - was the nice red I used to have and wanted again - what's a wrap like to get off? been on there some time apparently

the six an' a half is a USA import but with 45k on it and I'd rather a UK model ... looked far better and I deffo could not swing two new bikes with the boss :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

owner is not prepared to negotiate so AFAIC they'll not be coming South anytime soon .... told them if they can't sell them, contact me again  (an' I'll put my size 10s on) :ROFLMAO:

I was on a site- at a police station as it happens😬- for a week last year, were only allowed to use the poxy self retracting rubbish Stanley type. Utterly useless. After about 2 minutes trying I gave up and got my leatherman out and cracked on- having listened very carefully to the induction I concluded that they'd been very specific about it being normal 'Stanley knives' that weren't allowed. As a leatherman is clearly not one of them, I concluded it was clearly fine 😆😆🧐

What a poxy rule, if you can't be trusted with a knife that's appropriate to the task then what use are you on site.
On my own jobs I will almost always have my leatherman and a fixed blade like the ones above on me, I must have 8 or 10 scattered about the trucks/sheds. They're tools of the trade ffs 🙄🙄

If had 2 or 3 of the Bahco version over the years, great tools, can use them for rough wood work if you keep them decent, or they take a lot of abuse as a hacking chisel. One of them has had a notch cut out for helping to fit clutch pedal springs to defenders 😆
I've got the Hultaafors one too, it's made well enough but I'm not that keen on it, I think it's because the handles too knife like 🤔

There is a reason that the boa boots are becoming so popular. And 8 think it's down to the average site worker struggling to tie their laces.
