That’s bonkers money really, just don’t understand the mentality of spending that kind of money when for another £5k you could have a brand spanker. This is what happens when you give lots of money to lots of people who haven’t earnt it

There's always been a weird side to the second hand market (couple of year old) some people for whatever reason just won't buy new. Some of the prices some dealers fire out make them seem less expensive.

I enquired about an Iveco daily, it took a few days for Iveco uk to respond, still not heard off a dealer.

I got a reply within mins, dealer on phone about 20mins later....this is on a friday eve and he sorted me a good deal out on the spec i asked for.

I think is it the same old, some dealers good some not so. I don't even know who would be my local dealer would be as there is non local any more , Hence going via their (Iveco UK) website.

Oh the dealer isnt local, my local one rang back after a couple of weeks and didnt really listen at what id asked for.

Yes, machineserve. They seem keen to sell and communication is A1, Also smaller independent dealer so would sooner spend my money with them.
That quote wasn’t for the spec I’d want mind you, with the extra aux lines, steel tracks, possibly tilt hitch, thumb etc.

Not a good time to go looking for a used 2.5t ... couple I have seen tonight ....prices are crazy

Kubota U27-4 - 2017 - 2 buckets - maunual hitch - 2300hrs 19.750k

At those kind of prices its perhaps the time to offload used kit for new

Used prices are high guys . We just sold a u27 mind you 2015 for sub 16k so we are not greedy.

Here’s a question, is there a manufacturer producing a genuine 2.5 ton Non- zero Tail, digger. It seems not. But even the yanmar I referenced to above is going to be overweight by the time I’ve got steels, hitch and a thumb grab on. Seems to me only a 2.5t machine will have the weight tolerance to allow the above to be fitted- any smaller and it starts going down to the TB225 (2.3t) which I don’t much like the look as still want proper undercarriage rather than expanding s**t. Hitachi and case both used to make lovely machines. Zx25 and cx23 respectively, but it seems it all gone to 2.7t and zero/massively reduced arses which again doesn’t suit me.

You can order a Volvo ecr25 d with short dipper and no extra counterweight if you can tolerate zero tail swing

These have been talked about before on here and offer a few 2.5t machines whilst they are zero tail they might meet your requirements in other ways

Yeah, but the sv22 seems more like an oversized 1.8tonner. Kinda like a TB219 but with fixed tracks. I just remember quite a few models of machines 2000-2010 era that used to be 2.5t and have a nice fat arse overhanging the tracks, now it’s all gone skinny and I see little benefit of a zero really unless your in somewhere you can’t swing a cat. (Perhaps operators have just got worse hence need for zero all the time )

To be honest when you see the state of some zero tail swings it makes you wonder I liked the look of the 22 just a shame about the tracks not being retractable

I suppose so, I haven’t had to retract the tracks on my TB216 in 2.5 years of owning it so that feature is rather lost on me and I’d sooner take the robustness/simplicity and additional ground clearance of a fixed undercarriage.
i do think the SV22 has a definite appeal to it, with good reach and bigger undercarriage yet still ample weight allowance for attachments (it’s actually only 2 ton really) it’s never going to be like a 2.8tonner for hoofing big lumps of rock around. I’m being picky off course but the ideal would be an SV2.45! Just a bit more back end weight but not overweight with all the usual clober that comes along with a machine too.

Does look a fairly decent machine on the face of it. Why do they have to go and call it a sunward- sounds like something from the middle of Lidl
