Having bought stuff from China via Alibaba the issue seems to be variable quality. They can produce excellent stuff, but they can also produce very poor quality stuff and you don’t know what you will get. I know to some extent that happens everywhere, but not to the extent of sending out dangerous products and no comeback if there is a failure.
People I know bought 20 electric trail bikes at one go. Most were great, but three had major failures with the forks or rear suspension collapsing under load. One of which involved a hospital visit.
You just can’t trust them on quality control. The only people who I would trust is western companies who have set up factories out there are send out there own quality control guys.

I do some work for a co that has stuff manufactured out there, and they say the same, have their own people, that go out there, speak the lingo, and keep a check on quality.
They said if you don`t, they will start doing it your way, but then slowly go to doing it their way.

TBH the whole Chinese is s**t thing is correct if you look at the utter dross wannabe Delboy's import into this country. In recent years this containerised crap has gone from clothes and kids chokeable toys to Plant, Utility vehicles, Cars etc...... Anything that doesn't have a huge amount of legislation guarding against it and limited liablitys. Buy a container, make what you can, then disappear.

If we had the likes of XCMG, SANY or Zoomlion in the UK actually interested as a company I think we'd see some rapid changes to the UK's construction Fleet. The trouble is as long as Del and Rodney are selling Detanks, Rhinos, Farters and other such s**t at there market stall the chinese reputation will continue to be piss poor..... It begs the question of why don't we? Simple, why bother focusing your sales in a failing western society which is unlikely to have vast coin coin into the next decade when Africa, South America and the East are under developed and likely to grow as markets? Get in those countries with your premium products and build your reputation without the Del and Rodney issue.

The USSR had some good equipment in it's later days. Notably Off Road trucks, large farm tractors (80hp +). Owning a Zetor 12045 and knowing the build quality and actual strength of that and the Ursus tractors of the same design it would of been interesting to see how Zetor Could of faired if there name wasn't previously marred by the plethora of unreliable s**t they had sent before.....

Are Sany's and good? I'd say Yes.... Would I buy one?..... Quite possibly. Is the depreciation bad?...... wait till the downturn becomes more evident to see how much your kubota, takeuchi or hitachi is worth?

Been saying this for years- I'm sick to the back teeth of barrow boy 'machinery dealers' on facebook. Remember that clown who came on here trying to defend Carter, posing as a customer? That sort of thing.

If the arse drops out of the job then "Farters" and such as you call them 🤣 will be worthless if you can't sell kubs and taks.

You say that.... they are worthless now but Idiots are still buying them rather than the equivalent S/H top brand.

A Idiot I quoted a £3000 pipeline for brought a S/H 1.8t Rhinoceros for 10k....... Because it had only done 300hrs.

There will always be idiots..... and in hard times they will be more prevalent. "I've just spend £2000 on a S/H Farter 0.8t digger because I've a job that it will do and then I can sell it". A S/H Farter at £2000 in a recession will be easier to sell than a £6000 TB108.

We get too hung up in the things that are worth having because we aren't complete F***ing retards...... the majority are, and they will buy them.

Take those Shire (Shite) tractors..... Light built, utter s**t. But they sold, consistently, and still eventually sell second hand quite well.

For the Record I'd love to say C. Arter..... But Farter is more descriptive and less likely to cause @Regy53 (who still hasn't PM'd me back) Stress :ROFLMAO:

Prob a minor point but I'd be interested to see what would happen if you had a major accident on site in one and it goes to court...the "CE" marking etc might be ever so slightly iffy...

Down under there are (chinese) tractors being sold under the names of East Wind and EuroLion.
Never seen one in the flesh, but the number I've seen second hand with numbers like 150hours seems to tell the story.

Where has Sunward gone? Big push last year now nothing! And the sunward looked a fair machine...... but I'd hate to be left with one now!

Sunward seemed to disappear when Tom Armstrong stopped pushing them
