No because owner ops look at resale value which is where they really fall down. Bigger outfits where the accountant has a hand in the buying is where the bulk of the sales will come from but wait and see if they buy them again.

As I've said in the past. I would have a SANY, and that's about the only Chinese machine I would accept.
One of the world's leading machine manufacturers..... Only issue is to date in the UK they have been quite dear.

You would have a SANY .... but how much would you need to save over leading brands to swing it ? Forget availability.

Prices for the 2.7t are considerably cheaper than mainstream brands. Twin aux as standard too.

To be blunt if I liked the machine, which I do we'd be talking a thousand or two.
The Chinese do like using the best themselves, hence you see many "western" (Jap) machines in china....... But many Sany along with XMCG...... Both are good marques.

If I was to buy a new digger, resale wouldn’t be a big priority for me personally. I would plan to keep it a long time (no reason why I couldn’t when they are made up of quality parts). Resale to me would be more an issue if I was going to change every few years.
They seem to be getting popular in Canada and USA. They seem to be getting about now, and as previously said, they are a major player in the world construction machinery game. I don’t think they are in the same Chinese bracket as Carter, DAC etc. I’m currently writing this on my high quality Iphone12, which is Chinese

How much of a “top brand” machine, isn’t made in China? I’m pretty sure most electrical components in all machines will be Chinese?
The Wacker salesman was telling me the Wackers are fitted with japenese track motors, but the internals are Chinese. So is there an actual machine out there that has no kind of Chinese product in them?

You won't buy anything these days without Chinese made parts. The key thing is quality control and thats how strict they monitor the factory in China and then how particular they are about the parts they recieve and fit in their own assembly plants. There is no doubt the Chinese can produce the same quality of components and machinery as everyone else but the bit they struggle with is WHY you have to do things a certain way or use a certain quality of steel etc. They like to find a cheaper way to do things without telling you.

No idea what they are like now but was only 2k or so in it, when I was looking.
Problem for me is the wildly varying prices. Dealer quoted 26k then offered an 18hr machine for 25k, then later that week see two others bought new machines for 24k.

Depends what dealers you have locally. For me the closest is Kubota then yanmar and within 45mins-1 hour JCB.
The nearest sany dealer is best part of two hours and at the time they were saying they had 1 million of spares up in Scotland which sounds alot but chances are the spare you need is a 6 week ferry from China away.
Alot can be said about JCB in regards to build quality but their backup is excellent although there could still be the odd part that has to come from China

well he's sort of right ....@V8Druid was talking to the Sany salesman today again, he says the T4f models have an Isuzu engine, the stage 5 models are yanmar engines
"Yanmar 4TNV98CT .. EMISSION INDUSTRIAL .. Stage V, EPA Tier IV Final"
both appear to be tier 4 final versions all that's a bloody minefield of interpretation
