Are well all thick here today. I've just driven back 90 miles on a route in known to me and every other corner had a slow down bend warning. There was only 2 out of the 30/40 or whatever amount of bends in total that needed to slow down for.

To me we've just millions of pointless signs and warnings all over the place so much so that when you really do want a sign/warning you've see so many before that they begin to have no impact.

It's no wonder Common sense has gone and we still get the brain dead about.

Sadly, the people who need the help the most, assume because because of all the H+S, what can go wrong or hurt them? and any little common sense left is turned off, then unfortunately someone gets hurt, more H+S and continue.

thing that I find extremely annoying and seem to be proliferating 'round here is the 'shutter' type plates appearing at the entrances to so many round abouts here ....

these bloody things ... 🤬o_Oo_O:censored:

you enter the roundabout blind, so have to crawl to the junction .... roundabouts are designed to maintain traffic flow and should be approached with 'danger and opportunity' in mind ....
the danger with these bloody things're the knobs in front, stopping dead, instead of flowing with the traffic flow ...

you're so busy trying to see round the damned things, what's in front of you becomes more of a danger, than the oncoming traffic to your right, that you're trying to filter into 🤬🤬🤬🤬

this is a MAJOR junction controlling three dual carriage ways intersecting -- all now recently restricted to 40mph anyway 🤬 and is three lanes wide with what used to be excellent viz (as you can see),
with the N/S lane usually stationary with the queue for MacD's ****ing drive in 🤬🤬
would like to meet and have a conversation with the pr*ck that came up with this scheme 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Wales: New research shows 20mph limit could save |£100 million

utter crap
We need a common sense lobby to refute all of these self serving research groups . im getting sick of it around here .
local council love installing these bloody double shicane things then the road surface breaks up with all lorries and buses putting pressure on the tarred surfaces near the edge of the road. Not to mention having to replace them 2 or 3 times a year when some tractor or snow plough wipes them out . I'd love to know the real cost of installing and then maintaining them . They shouldn't be allowed to have any traffic calming unless it can be proven that the area has issues that need to be calmed. Build a play park with the money at least that would be more useful

When asked about safety, 64 per cent of people said that 20mph speed limits “makes it safer for pedestrians”; 57 per cent agreed that 20mph means “fewer serious collisions on the roads” and almost half (47 per cent) thought 20mph would make it safer for cyclists.
Ignoring who was interviewed and how many, since when does "opinion" make measurable facts?
