I'm seriously thinking of jacking it in. I like what I do, but I begrudge all the taxes and hassles. Why do I want to keep supporting the idiots with my hard earned money? I could live on a bit less and have all the time to myself.

having been forced into it at 53 in 2010, I wasn't quite ready and took a while to get used to ... being unwell helped to a degree, as wasn't up to it for some time, but still took me a long time to get used to not having to get up at 6 every day and go to work, which although I loved what i did, had become an uphill grind, just to cover all the costs, let alone make money ... had been working towards it and had a target of 55-ish .... young enough to still be able to enjoy it and be active/get about/travel/etc. .... as it turned out, was about the right time to jump, with all the crap that was coming down the pipe line and additional costs that it was all going to bring with it.

All I'll say is give it serious consideration ... you'm a looong time in a box -- and I've thought I was going that way ...... we've all carried more than enough of our share of the hangers on through our working lives ... if you can afford it - do it ... you will get used to it and eventually wonder how the hell you found time to go to work ;) ....... it is very hard to take the step, when you enjoy what you do and you need to be able to 'fill' your days, most of the time ... nice occasionally to sit and chill too when the sun's beating down :giggle:

I would say the majority of us are in a similar situation - seems you have got to be one stubborn or even stupid bastard to stick at it for the long term, when we go to accountants for our yearly meeting and are greeted with " youve had a really good year" then we know that we are in the s**t again for the famous french social charges :ROFLMAO:

The trouble is people vote him in to power. They will eventually run out of other peoples money to spend, but it will be a long time coming as central government keeps them afloat with our money from less blighted areas.

and now they want to raise the number of WAMs, in a farce that most people in Wales never really voted for :mad::mad:
2.5m pop. in Wales approx. and they want over 100 WAMs
UK as a whole 66m pop. (estimated to be closer to 80m in reality) with 600+ MPs
summat ****ing wrong somewhere ..... :mad:
(and what we have on the whole are self serving w*nkers, who love the sound of their own voices ) 🤬🤬🤬 ... know a couple of 'em and wouldn't p*ss in their ears, if their head/brain cell, was on fire :mad: .. utter waste of skin and oxygen

The way I read it was, they wanted to increase the seats in their heartlands effectively making themselves impossible to be voted out.
