There will be a sight glass somewhere and probably above it will be some kind of filler

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Fully close the bucket ram, fully extend the dipper, fully offset to the right and drop it all on the floor ...... now what does your sight glass look like ... if it ain't full, top it up ... in that position you will have as much oil back in the tank as you'll ever get, unless you're digging a deep hole, off set right, ... to fully close the boom ram.

It’s what I do!
I think if you put the arm and boom and bucket in the position in the first picture and drop it to the ground all the rams will be less full and you can fill to the fill point in the glass.

there's still a fair bit in the offset ram though Mick .... cranking it to the right, as well, puts the max. poss. back in the tank (y)

Yes there will be but as long as there is room for expansion in the tank, it’s a compensator for all rams in and all rams out, the tank is the differential😊

yeh, but I like to err on the side of caution .... 's not a very big tank on there Mick ;):giggle:

The gauge is normally 2/3 the way up the tank, so even when it shows empty it’s half full, and when it shows full it’s not!
