An absolute monster of a gate- it's gonna be clad yet. Sited right next to a riverbank so wasn't keen on hanging a pair with one bank side. Luckily there is an embankment the other side so have added a couple of eyes at the top and will use ground anchors to tie back if needed. Should be able to get 2.4m in the ground with the auger plus an extension. Luckily I had a spare 80cm of 114x5mm CHS so was able to get 2.4m in the ground for the hanging post and 1.1m for the slam post.
There's also the option of adding a sprung jockey wheel.
To be fair, at 14.5ft it's only 2.5ft wider than my old yard gates, which were clad with no problems. So I think the pair of hinges should suffice.
