That is so right with the cats, Whenever i buy them something new the empty box is left lying on the floor and they ave more fun with that ! It also stop them from playing with their new scratching post (my poor Kef floor standing speakers)!!!
If you go onto youtube and do a search for Simon's Cat it's hilarious you will be watching for ages so be warned!

and yeh, cats love boxes ... Squeak is constantly sat / laid in the lid of Pam's current jigsaw box .......... and makes a B-line for my wipe roll, whenever he finds the boxes open
