Come on lads, we all know the type. Wants top day rate, doesn't have a clue, bullshits to the customer. I'll start.

A dead giveaway is brand new 'Ox' brand tools- that's because they've picked them up along with their cup of coffee at the builder's merchants that very morning. Don't have a worn in trowel? Chancer.

A new doublecab pickup with hardtop. Or a brand new Transit. Always on finance or often leased. All about the image rather than substance and decent tools? Chancer.

A cement mixer that looks like it's done five rounds with Mike Tyson. Stupid enough to think that adding dents to a mixer will keep it cleaner? Chancer.

And a hired in mini digger coupled with two Hammerlin wheelbarrows. Smart enough to hire a digger rather than shovel (but not smart enough to have your own), and too cheap to hire a power barrow at the same time? Oh, that's right, it's so you can charge Mrs Miggins for a third bloke. f****ng chancer.

I just went to order club hammers from Toolstation and switched to Screwfix because I couldn't bring myself to buy Ox! :ROFLMAO:

A LDV van and a Christmas cracker loader
See, that's the opposite. Workhorse spare truck and a smart bit of kit to save labour. Means we can have two tippers carting muck from local job.

What about three clapped out 1.5t diggers and a Mk2 Ford Ranger? :ROFLMAO:

Didn't you do a tipper conversion on that in the end? Getting some use out of it? Just remembered- make the above three tippers!

Mk2 tipper is sold awaiting payment.... although I might ring the man today as he's a Benford TT3000 in the yard and they seem to be dumper of the year.

The other Mk2 I've got I want to chop for a Diesel Mule or similar...... for reasons of economics.

It's a random time of day to be having a rant online unless you're part owl
Sometimes I can't sleep- I wake up at 3, lie away for an hour then decide to get up. Arthritis.

It actually works pretty well for me. If I get up I'm usually very productive. If I fall back to sleep I wake up at hafl seven feeling shite.

I accidentally stole gunners pointing trowel so I'm ok on that one. I do have a ox rubber mallet but to be fair it's not bad.

Back to Chancers: (operators this time)
Anything Less than a 40 tonne machine is an insult, but he’ll drive smaller if he has to
Has worked on all of the big jobs, such as Sizewell, Channel Tunnel, rebuilding Kuwait etc.,
Won’t get out of bed for less than £25/hr
Can’t move the machine without end-stopping the rams “because that’s how you get the best out of it”
can’t hit the ground with the bucket, let alone hit levels
Refuses to dig the tracks out
Ditto grease because “everything should have an auto greaser nowadays” (still thinks he should get greasing time)
Can drive any machine on site “better than the guy who’s on it”
Trench shoring is for poufs
Everything that breaks is because the machine is a heap of s*** (even new machines)
Health and Safety is s***
Knows everything because he‘s worked for companies that make this one look like a circus.
Wants a fuel card/van first day on job
(all heard on various jobs over the years, I’m sure people on here have heard similar)

Im surprised you come across ones that will drive small machines tbh usually less than 13t and it's time to jack. And on the odd occasion they do get on a mini they absolutely cack themselves going over a kerb

Normally they cack themselves when you show them a bit of work.
