Apparently diesel is cheaper to produce than petrol but after gov told drivers to get diesel cars they altered the tax
heavier, not so refined

166.9 at my local Morrison’s today for diesel - bargain(!)
They ran out yesterday though apparently, as did Sainsbury’s.

anyone seen this

small fuel cubes in 'works vehicles' is going to make them even bigger targets than leaving your tools on board  ... and whether there's one in there .. or not ... it's going to make it even more of a target than it already is

Just a price comparison, in 2008 fuel was $140 a barrel and at the pumps it was £1.04 per litre, Current 2022 price for a Barrel is back to $110 and price at the pumps is average at £1.67 - £1.70 per litre.
Last week Opec were having a meeting about producing more barrels to compensate and obviously bring the price of fuel back down so I think currently we are being taken for a ride by someone considering most of the fuel that we are buying at the moment was refined weeks ago when the price per barrel was significantly less!
As usual the motorist is being ripped off!

Heating oil is at £1.48. Triple what it was when I last made a purchase. How does that work?

Did you ever watch the car program on TV with Bernie and Lepau the one where they purchase a shogun or similar and got it to run on food oil, They went down Brick lane collecting waste oil from the Indian restaurants they then filtered it all a couple of times then filled the tank up and it ran perfectly although they said it smelt like an Onion Bargee going down the road!

Now the Daily Mail is reporting that diesel may be rationed from as early as April. It's not implausible- if the crude isn't there, then the diesel can't be refined. This will play havoc with every sort of deliveries and industry.

My supplier had 1800l left on a delivery slot for Friday. Wouldn't tell me the price till thursday, so I've ordered and have added KY jelly to my Tesco's delivery.
