We had a robot delivery a few weeks back, said 1 hour ETA, thought at the time must be due to schedule and loading......
Not quite saw on the app it was on it way and thought, thats great should only be 30 mins as only has around .8 of a mile to go but no it went on a 1.6m jolly. We were following it on the app it got the road that leads to our street, sat there for 10 mins, then crossed the road and headed off to a roundabout, where it crossed over and went around. By this point we could see it from the upstairs of our house out a back window, it sat on the corner for 5-10 mins. At this point we thought it would head up the road and come through a bike path further up..... It then proceeded to drive into another little estate where it decided to drive round, as it was headed back along a main route, it did another detour into another estate onto a bike track where it headed back towards us. It then crossed over the main road and into the top end of our estate where it decided to not take the cut through and go back to the the road and head down to the turning of our road, which was around .1 of a mile from where it started its expedition of a detour. It then proceeded to sit on the corner for a good ten mins, before heading to our house, when it was a few doors down it got confused by a bush that over hangs the path which resulted in it dropping off the path a couple of times. It finally arrived, the kids were excited and it played it's little song when the lid opened. Well past the 1 hour ETA.
People worry about robots taking over but with how that ordeal went we are safe for quite a while
