Plasma cutting table

Been thinking of upgrading the old BOC minigraph for a nice CNC plasma table. Anyone got a recommendation?
Gonna get a cost from:
Kerf.
Swiftcut.
Esprit.
And possibly westermans who do a few different options.
Looking at being able to do 25mm mild steel and 15mm stainless.

could you not just fit the mini with a straight plasma torch Mike ... had one for my little magic eye profiler which ran fine off my 130A plasma

Yep we've done that plenty but it's more the magic eye part would be good to get rid of. Most things are done off puter files now an creating a drawing and trying to get the magic eye to follow is ole school tech now.

yeh, they could be a PITA if the line wasn't perfect, nice and black and the prescribed size .. plus getting it to follow the right side could also be 'trying' with some shapes .... can well see where you're coming from with 'straight from file' convenience

The only one I have experience of is the Esprit, the old mans has been great! Real easy to use and has been very reliable

I’ve no first hand experience but I’ve read plenty about CNC plasma and a name that keeps coming up is Plasmacam.
Be warned - it’s not cheep

To get good results you apparently need a system that has torch height control which adds to the cost.

As I said, this is from other peoples opinions and ‘I read it on the internet so it must be true right? ‘.

There is a plethora of options it seems and I'm sure although some sound really good and useful might blow the budget out the water. True hole technology seems to be a key phrase for good sharp circular holes or high definition Ultrasharp technology depending on which brand you go for.
The main ones I can see for the power source being Hypertherm and Lincoln Electric.

absolutely Mike and if it makes life easier you're better off spending it on gear than giving it to the tax man ... always had a big spend at month 10/11, if there was any risk of having to give it away ... if it hadn't been spent through the year.
You'm a bit late this year though Boyo ... got a day to spend it in.
