I feel your pain! Pretty similar scenario everytime I break ground too. But digging rocks like that out fills me excitement- I get paid by the meter for my stone walling and the meters soon go up with rocks like that rocks themselves are worth good money

its amazing just how little much will fit on a muckaway especially when its wet. Seems like after 6 buckets they are moaning about the weight. Not to mention the sign of any non-inert material or rocks etc and the rate goes up!

It's not far off making a screening bucket pay for itself ....

some serious dollar to be made from the floating boulder 'art'.

Weld some ships anchor chain, wrap in rope and drill/resin it well in.... Saw one in Chipping Norton the guy paid 10k for it.

It’s got an end stop and is much easier than bending over a pile of old posts. Just undo the motor stop switch a touch to keep it running, then feed with left hand and lift up with right hand to advance each cut. Cuts through an oak 5x3 in around four seconds, I’m happy with that for an easy life. Change to a really aggressive blade and you could probably shave another second off.

plus it’ll cut straight through gate hinges, never mind the odd staple!

I don’t use suds. Blades last just as long using a wax stick type lube and everything stays so much cleaner.

Can see the need for coolant on a milling machine, but a slow speed bandsaw seems fine to me. At least, I never have any problems with the amount I cut.
Anyway, there’s a grill over the drain to stop metal filings going into the pump so I’m sure it’ll stop sawdust too

Get a wood blade mate of mine snapped his Milwaukee portable blade on a job last week... apparently not very easy to find a new one in a hurry judging by the language but swears by it.

but not the talc sized stuff which'll gum up yer pump. ........... that blade gets pretty hot too Boyo ..... see how long you can hold your hand under the swarf coming off it

As I understand it, the chips take the heat away from the cutting operation? Hence how you tell if your sfm is right on a lathe by the colour of the chips.

What so the hotter the chips the cooler the cut? If the chips are hot the cutting is producing heat and needs cooling. All your wax stick or whatever you use coating is doing is stopping stuff sticking to the blade

with TCT yes, but the blades'll be either carbon, bi-metals or full HSS (depending on how long yer arms are and how deep your pockets are ) ... they WILL last longer cooled & lubed - trust me

Crap timber… in todays market that’s £400’s worth there alone!!
