I’ve got a Ctek , it’s bloody good. But only a charger, not a booster/starter. Also only 12v, the 12/24v ones seemed a lot of money to me for the amount I would probably use the 24v feature.
As it was replacing a charger, booster/starter, I complimented the new smart charger with a jump pack. Which seemed like a good compromise, but it’s better than a compromise for me. I can take the jump pack anywhere, no leads, no hassle. Lasts ages on a charge and has never failed to start something yet. Got several boost packs now, got some of these Lithium cell ones, but too early to say how good they are yet.

Ive used the big 12/24v GYS and it was really impressive would easily start a 150hp tractor from flat think it even started the lorrys

one of these arrived built into me genny, for maintaining the battery level, when it's connected direct to the mains, on change-over set up ....
Durite Automatic Battery Charger/Maintainer 12 volt 20 amp 0-647-20 ..... it got removed a few weeks ago, as I thought it'd be better employed on me battery bench, than sat doing now't in't genny ..... I was right .... does a great job of keeping all me spares topped up

has two sets of outputs, so assume it'll cater for a pair of batteries ... must download the 'book of words', for it and see ?
also have an SIP booster charger that I've had for years .... does 12 / 24 V and puts out some sort of boost .... but needs some supply too on full boost .... 30 odd + amps from memory ... will look see what model it is tomorrow .... was 350+ quid maybe 15 odd years ago .... after some thieving tw*t relieved us of our previous one, one lunch time, when we were all sat eating .... annoying thing was; it must've been a customer, who took 'an opportunity' to lift it .... but we used to get all sorts turn up
had a 32A x 5 pin, 3ph plug on it (just used a live and neutral) for max boost and an adapter to plug it into a 13A 3 pin for charging with

I have some thing I was sold by the local drive round tool guy. Wasn’t cheap and it broke well the wires did after 8 months. I repaired. Next time I am going to buy a cheap sealey thing as they are binable

Have a look at Noco if you just want a charger - my local auto electricians recommended/supplied me a couple (for charging traffic light batteries). They are brilliant - simply attach the leads and it does the rest itself (selects voltage/battery type etc). I think Halfords sell them now too - probably pretty cheap if you’ve got a trade card.

Not sure if trade card gets discount t on the noco stuff. The booster packs you don't as they are online only, not sure on the chargers
The noco gb70 jump pack seems to be a decent small battery booster and good for upto 6l diesel engines

i have one of those great bit of kit, had it a couple of years now bought it as a bit of a trial as wasn’t sure how good it would be
just wished I’d bought the bigger GB150 as it also has a volt meter and a bit more power

Had to borrow my mates snapon version, as when changing the fuel filter on the ranger it didn't prime properly so ran out of juice cranking it over. To be fair the battery on it was always a bit naff but it's been replaced now.
Still on the fence for buying one, don't really have the need for one but they are very handy as a back up, plus can charge other stuff off if it the need arises.i have one of those great bit of kit, had it a couple of years now bought it as a bit of a trial as wasn’t sure how good it would be

I Would not bother with a modern smart charger if possible. I`ve found (only with 12v ones I`ve tried, the 24v is similar to v8druids above) if the voltage is down a bit they don't know what mode to charge in, which is pretty useless when you want to charge a flat battery.

The whole point of a smart charger is that they know surely? My CTEK never gives me any trouble regardless of state of battery.. I mean, if we're talking a totally f***ed flat battery, it might refuse- but then it's on you if you want to flush the cells and shock it with a surge charge. I suppose you could always just set the smart charger to 'supply' if that's what you wanted.
