Laser measure, distance thingy

Anyone using the laser tape measures or distance calculator or whatever they are called?

any recommendations?

are they just measures or can they do math for corners and stuff?

Leica Disto 510. Auto correct for angle etc, can do things like measure the height of a tree. Has camera/viewfinder so you can see where it is aiming way off in the distance. Loads of other complicated features I haven't used too. Get it with a tripod, you won't hold it steady at 100 metres.

X4 is cheaper and not bad either. 2nd that on tripod fir long range. Surprisingly good tho!👌
Camera is what sets these apart from the cheap ones.

They usable outdoors, as in laser visibility?
I seen the x4 and a some heupar thing but after the hassle so far with the phone not looking to go cheap Chinese.
That disto stand is a savage price though

Yes, because you look at the screen which shows the view (x1, x2 or x4 magnification) with a crosshair which you use to aim rather than look for the dot.

Got a couple of hiltis work well, older ones but accurate and great for setting out etc. Not so great on bright days.
