She won't go! 😞

Went out this morning to do the dipper end and link bushes only to discover she wouldn't start, turned the key but didn't turn over. Immediately thought battery and wheeled the loadall over as close as I could and the jump leads just reached only to discover it wasn't the battery  still no turn over, ignition and everything else seems to be working fine. Checked all the fuses are fine. I shorted out the contacts on the starter solenoid and turns over fine but didn't start . Checked the stop solenoid with the ignition on and no voltage present. Whatever it is it doesn't want the machine to go. DX80R doosan.
The other day I had the seat out to adjust the position slightly to suit my generous dimensions but can't see any unplugged or damage wires. Anyone have any ideas?

Something similar on my telehandler recently. It was the ignition switch!! Not making the contacts internally!!

I've checked the relay for the starter and it's working fine along with the key

If there is no voltage present at the stop solenoid then this is your problem. They are NC, and open allowing diesel through with a 12 supply from the ignition.

Sorry if teaching your gran to suck eggs but not sure from your post if you realise this.

Yes I’m aware of the stop solenoid function, hence the reason I checked. I’m just trying to figure out why it doesn’t want to turn over or open the stop solenoid to start the engine. I’m thinking it must be some kind of engine safety function or machine safety rely somewhere that is holding things up. There is no warning lights on the dash apart from the usual battery light and oil pressure light which I presume would both go out when the engine comes to life. There is not a lot of electrics on this machine so should be fairly simple. I check about seven times icase I had unplugged something behind the seat when I was messing about with it but can really see anything abnormal :(

Have you had it running since the seat was out?

I’ve checked the start rely and it powers up when I turn the key to start so I think the key switch it waorking as it should.

Haven’t inadvertently disconnected an eart lead? Something on a seat bolt? And bolts go through the floor into captive nuts, that possibly had an eart lead on the other side and you wouldn’t have known?

There was no wires disconnected from the seat when I took it out , I dunno if this age of machine would have a seat pressure switch.

Hasn’t got an emergency stop button that you’ve accidentally pressed down?

No turn over with the switch, but when I short out the starter with a steel bar she turn over plenty so definitely not a battery issue.
It may be an earthing issue now I think of it. If the engine is not earthing correctly then maybe this could be the cause of the issues.
I’ll have to check tomorrow I’m bloody fed up and inside now

No it can’t be cause it turns over no bother so must be earthing for this to happen.

The engine may be earthed but the starter circuit may not be. I had very similar issues with a machine, which has very simple electrics, turned out that it had lost the earth to the dash, meaning no start! One dodgy earth point caused it not to run, just like that.....

Is there a starter cut out I’m on the dead man lever in that machine. My Kubota won’t start with the lever down. I remember we had a bobcat that was similar and the deadman switch was testing as fine but had worn so wasn’t working properly.

There maybe an emercy stop switch around the floor area that got knocked when the seat was out? Hitachis have this, just a little flick switch and i have knocked them when working in the cab?

 I went upto her this afternoon, had a quick look at the dead man lever switch, seems to be in good enough condition, clicked it a few times and sound nice and positive in the action. Thought to myself it's something else causing the issue. Had a look about some of the wiring looking for a bad earth or something. Must have spent 15mins looking and thinking about it. Sat in the seat again and turned the key and instantly fired up.. I didn't do anything other than look at it but what ever it is it seems to be fine now. I tried with arm up and down, on and off the seat but starts no matter what!
