The next election will be a s**t show.

I've no allegiance to any party and thus will vote for who's plan is best.... Unfortunately none of them seem to have a plan.... The Torys have descended into Stealth taxes in the name of climate change and a tactic of shanghi'ing in legislation because they can.

I hope they get a proper beating at the next election..... the issue that arises is who next, what next and Oh f**k. None of them are electable.

Personally we'd be just as well to throw the lot out and reinstate Queenie before she pops her clogs. Trouble is we have the same issue there, her children are seemingly incompetent buffons.
You and Charles could discuss mole protection legislation..

Jokes aside I've never heard so many folk pissed off with politics as a whole atm.
Hence I still maintain they should have dismissed the whole parliament at start of covid and run it as a war cabinet like ww2. work together FFS

Not sure Boris played a blinder regarding Xmas. Think he was forced into it due to partygate!!
He was still listening to Mr Doom and Gloom Ferguson that was predicting 6000 deaths a day for mid Jan if we didn’t lockdown in Mid December.
What is a current clamity is the continued push for getting boosted when a quick look at the statistics would show we are now running close to the 10/90 cases in non vac/vacs. The government is still blindly oblivious to the fact the ā€˜vaccine’ is now no longer effective. I am laughing when my vaccinated boosted friends tell me that they don’t have it bad due to being jabbed. How do they know that?? They don’t!!! They just believe the line pushed by the government. Reality is Omnicron is not as serve and we have moved on greatly with knowing how to treat people that do get it bad.
Hopefully the government will quietly see some sense this week and drop the compulsory vaccination of NHS staff. The last think we need is to force any staff to leave what is a chronically short staffed service. No Politician is honest to admit we are losing the battle with being able to sufficiently fund the NHS in its current state. Perhaps this should be another thread.
The mandate imposed on Care home staff back in November is working out well by the looks of it🤦

"All California schoolchildren would have to be vaccinated against COVID-19 under a new bill. Here's what you need to know
Legislative attempts to change vaccine laws in schools have previously led to intense deliberations, prolonged protests and arrests" ......... LA Times

o_Oo_Oo_O
tha's more than a step beyond :mad::mad::mad: what'll be next ????
It’s in complete contravention of all medical ethics for people to be coerced into taking medical treatment.

" According to the ONS, 1.1million people in the UK have died since the start of 2020. Of those,17,000 died OF Covid19. The average age of death was 81.5. In 2018 alone, flu killed 17,000 yet in 2020 there were supposedly no deaths from flu. Work that one out ":unsure:o_Oo_Oo_O:mad:

also read an article the other night that stated (again ONS figures) that only 1 in 10 of those hospitalised are un vacc.ed ... so 10% ... this does not correlate to the circa 34+% (ONS figure) of the population who aren't vacc.ed ?????

Well I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t believe any of the figures and I never have.

4 hours of top doctors talking about covid hosted by American senator Ron Johnson. I have only watched a bit, it's interesting to hear what they have to say 2 years into this pandemic.

He also said they have ā€œthe wrong opinionā€ or words to that effect!
I was wrong, the line is ā€œpeople who hold unacceptable viewsā€.......obviously doesn’t believe in freedom of speech and freedom of choice!
The clip of him saying it is in this video, it’s a long vid so if you want to skip to the clip it’s at 10.35 minutes.

According to the latest announcement, anyone known to be infected will now be required to lock themselves in their homes for 14 days. That is only the start of it, however, because anyone else in the house automatically becomes classified as a close contact; they must also now ā€˜isolate’ for the same period and then for an additional ten days as well. And if it so happens in those last ten days that one of the previously un-infected close contacts in your house tests positive then the whole process starts all over again. If Omicron spreads as quickly here as it has in other countries, it seems possible that at some point nearly every household will be forced into isolation.

Fortress New Zealand has also just closed its borders completely to outsiders. Tourists, visa-holders and citizens abroad will no longer be able to access the mandatory managed isolation and quarantine facilities that newcomers are required to pass through in order to visit. No date has been given for when the old system will resume.

That'd be New Zealand.
You may not like the idea, but you have to admit "real" isolation works to limit transmission.
The UK's isolation (sic) have proved that a half-a**ed approach achieves very little other than irritating everybody.
Boris has become the poster boy for not taking isolation seriously.

These are yesterdays stats:
1643425784606.png

UK population is about 7 times that of New Zealand
UK infection rate is about 1000 times that of New Zealand
Similarly, the UK death rate is about 3000 time higher.

If you want to see some impressive numbers, East Asia's biggest annual festival (Luna New Year, Chinese New Year, Tet etc.) is just starting. It's typically 1~3 week holiday and is many peoples only opportunity to see family for the year.
It is estimated a billion people will be on the move (spreading what ever they've got as they go).
My prediction is the global numbers will start to spike in a couple of weeks.

I've been to NZ twice...lovely holiday undeveloped destination...but that's about it..
Slight difference is the UK is the 5thish and arguably one of the most important financial and business centres in the world....we can't just lock the door and say fk u to business like Jacinta has done.
Time will tell but I think you'll find UK economy is in slightly different shape to NZ . Got few friends with businesses in NZ they are desperate for a change of Gov...
My two pennyworth 😁

How are covid deaths measured in all of those countries?
In the UK anyone who tested positive for covid in the 28 days prior to death is counted as a covid death (which is frankly ridiculous, but there you go!). I’m not sure if that is the same elsewhere which makes comparing figures from one country to another pretty meaningless.

It’s already been admitted that the Covid death figures are nothing like what’s been reported
