Nice job,used to work for firm did boring on the old o&k mining shovels,kept a few firms in business back in the day,head of guy in Aus got it badly wrong on rh400 to the tune of 200,000 dollars in the end I believe

Heres a few more steam engine jobs that were completed before Christmas. The holes in the horn plates on a Fowler B6 and the third shaft casting on an Aveling and Porter 8t roller

And bringing it back to plant, here’s the latest victim in the workshop. A Cat loading shovel bucket that’s had a bit of a hard life. All the damage and rust is cut out and it’s awaiting some new steel

Got a bit more done on the cat 966 bucket this week. Doggin plate and laying stringers.

I was waiting for someone to spot the little crane! As you say, it’s a Telehandler with a hiab boom. It’s my neighbours, it was bought with a snapped boom and modified.im borrowing it whilst I’m sorting out my gantry crane.
Someone should start making them, it’s the best little yard crane I’ve ever used.

.... getting it past the 'Stasi' would be the issue with it ..... 4 x4 x4 and easy access is a real bonus on that, over a conventional yard crane with compactness a real plus too

I’ve spoke to the chap who does my LOLER inspections , he says if I can provide a load chart for it and an initial load test cert (125% load) he will inspect it for me.

that could be exciting
..... once beyond the wheels/[centre of tipping rotation ] though could only do 100% of tip load and rate it at 75% SWL, as per B.S., which'd be an easy enough chart to suss .... creating an ASLI for it'd be a different proposition and'd have to be with all wheels aligned ... be a nightmare catering for the imbalance a steering lock would cause .... 'tis a very neat lil' tool though

heres that CAT 966 bucket finished, and some new longer pins that I had to make for it.

and heres a nice little tele handler tipping ram that had to be stripped and re piped, I do quite a few of these, they usually end up all bent when someone drops the headstock into a skip and tries to drag move it round the yard in reverse.
