Lads....take your time ....do it properly and maybe the paint wont fall off so easy
Supprised how much of the whole build is still done by handPaint is all about prep.
didn't see much in the way of shot blasting off the mill scale ??????Paint is all about prep.
There yellow primer is so good it doesn't need to come offdidn't see much in the way of shot blasting off the mill scale ??????
I never said there prep was good btw. The primer and topcoat yellow combo is ok as you have dedicated layers to do their job and no prep between as they use wet on wet system. The black however is powder coat. The problem with powder coat is anything under it or any scratches afterwards allow rust to creep underneath and then it comes off in sheets. They'd be better off priming and painting the black imo but that would slow production as you'd have to wait for paint curing before assembly.didn't see much in the way of shot blasting off the mill scale ??????
Tbh i don't see they are a vast amount worse than one's from 20 year ago. Other than servo controls for the back end there's not a lot on one now that wasn't there 20 year ago. They just change colours and shape of mudguards once a month so you think they are a new model. On a different point, I’ve pulled many backhoes to bits fixing them with basic socket sets etc.. but these latest incarnations just look almost impossible to fix at the side of the road! I think they days of buying one to keep and run/fix in the evenings are gone! It’s all going toward lease hire and get a new one every 3yrs….
