There are commercially available dollies casters that go on each corner twist lock socket, maybe check with hire places? Thinking about it did @V8Druid have some, or pictures of?
A local place that make self contained shot blasters in shipping containers, that I deliver for them, have have dollies they use to move them around in the workshop. A L shape bracket under the twist lock block with a stub alxe underneath and a spigot to go into the twist lock hole, then pick the other end up with the forks. I`m moving one for them next week when they go back. I`ll try and get a photo if you want.

Some of them are solid wheels and only any good on a smooth concrete floor. A long time back my old fella welded some stub axles onto a long enough bit of box and i think was old dumper wheels to go under a container to aid moving one about. Worked ok for a knock up which was a long way from being perfected. You can do all steering from handler end.

Yes a lot you see a small solid wheels.
These are a 8/10 inch (split rim maybe) rim and a heavy duty tyre, and as you say do all the steering from the fork lift end.

Handler each end and someone who knows what to do in the middle telling the drivers what to do

I made one after seeing @Mogman creating!
Old (brand new!!) army Land Rover trailer axle cut in half and extended, ifor trailer wheels fit on it, lift up and pull around to your hearts content. Not easy to control, wouldn’t want to be pulling it around anywhere tight, I found it easier to chain up from the top lifting points and drag that way, saves fouling the container..

If your on concrete I’d just drag/push it around, they slide easily enough

A strong axle nearly in the middle of the box will get in some difficult places the one I made is good for 10 tonnes (well that’s what I’ve had on it😉)

found it whilst looking for my boat shifting bogie

was fine for even 60 footers ... two FLT solid rims with some discs welded in each edge ... tube through the centre, plenty of grease and a 2" pin for an axle ... have shifted dozens of boats with it ... inside on concrete and out on the yard on planings.. 45ft was going 5-6t coming out the shop ... 60 ft a lot more

or some plates to skid 'em about on, on the skates ... or a few pallet trucks on plates/concrete/good hard ground

if my boxes weren't so full the 'Drema'd handle 'em no sweat ... but at 12 ish tonne each, it's gonna have to be a crane for mine, when they get relocated :(

could always go old skool with a few lengths of tube or telegraph poles and roll 'em about .... surprising how efficient it can be and can steer 'em in all sorts of directions very easily, especially if they're empty boxes ... 's a doddle if you have something capable of lifting an end
