Can anyone recommend a good warm work coat that can handle grinding sparks and wont tear instantly? The yanks seam to have some decent looking ones but ive never seen anything like that over here. Everything I get seams to fall apart in no time and has the same size chest but bigger belly size as you go up L,XL and so on.

If you want a tough yank coat it's the Carhartt chore that the ice road truckers and axemen seem to wear
I wear Carhartt trousers and they are inderstructable even from grinding and welding sparks

Some of the reviews on American sites reckon they are getting over 10 years out of those chore coats being worn by pipe welders and the like so must get a fair bit of abuse.
The double fronted trousers are the absolute dogs danglies of trousers. Stiff but I think they are cut from the same fabric as old scout tents they are that thick

proper old canvas work wear (y) get 'em oiled up a bit and'll be pretty waterproofed too ... or could give 'em a waxing like the ol' Belstaff bike wear

I can confirm carhartt are good quality. I have this:

After years of crap coats that fit poorly I tried this because it is 'full swing' which means you can lift your arms in the air without the jacket restricting you.
