No10 is expected to announce a suite of new measures to stem the spread of Omicron today.
The curbs that could be introduced are:
— Compulsory face masks extended to pubs and restaurants
— Vaccine passports for large events
— Advice to work from home where possible
— Isolation of all contacts of Covid cases
These are the measures that are already in place:
— Compulsory masks in shops and on public transport
— Pre-flight departure tests for all UK arrivals
— PCR test on or before Day 2 for vaccinated arrivals Does this apply to the boat people
— 10-day isolation for unvaccinated arrivals
— Day 2 and Day 8 PCR tests for unvaccinated arrivals
— Return of Red List and hotel quarantine for arrivals from countries on list
— Booster vaccine campaign expanded to all adults, dosing gap shortened to three months
And vaccines my be mandatory

'bout time they started paying off their long term debts then .. been trading insolvent for bloody years ... local depot was cash only with me ... they owed me a couple of grand I never got out of them .... and the depot manager was my next door neighbour

see it on the news this morning ... "Anyone born after 2008 will not be able to buy cigarettes or tobacco products in their lifetime, under a law expected to be enacted next year." ... so they get someone else to buy them for them?
says in the article that NZ's pop. is 5 m so can't see that revenues from the baccy industry'd be particularly large, compared to many other countries, particularly the UK with some pretty high duty rates .... and 66m (official) population (has been estimated to be perhaps 10m more)

Perfectly legal (and apparently very simple) to grow as much tobacco as you personally (and only you) can smoke.
