15 tonne GVM, 7 tonne payload, 4.5m drop side tipper with longreach HIAB type crane plus alloy ramps for loading machinery can't be beat for versatility unless you're in tight places. This combo is the ducks nuts and the variety of work you can get with it and do with it is fantastic. Hino's are nice to drive too :)

Who would give a damn with 7t payload on a truck that small? :D
well you for one, if you had 7.5t to get on there and the body build weight was stopping you ;)
wasn't a criticism as such .. they're well made BTLs, but a lot heavier build than you'd find over here Doob...
here everyone wants 'em as light as possible .. I used to build beds ...
this was a light weight for a guy's grass tracker .... used to make loads of tipper bodies too, but struggling to find pix ATM ... prob.s pre digi, but should have a few later ones :unsure:

Yes but that you are building is for a 3.5t truck! Our weight limits are daft.

I had my steel bodied LDV tipper on the weighbridge yesterday, does anyone want to guess the weight empty with a full tank of fuel?

that one was but used to do 'em for 7.5t to 16t ... complete drop side steel bedded tippers on sub chassis to drop straight on a chassis cab

Humm.... LDV, will be old and therefore rusty. I think that will make some weight savings.... 1.9t is my guess

There are a few firms that do do heavy duty tipper bodies with drop sides. Like really heavy duty and really high sides. Almost exclusively seem to be on transits and 7.5tonners towing caravans

used to build for a commercial dealer ...
would either buy chassis cabs or trucks with bodies and whip 'em off ...
couldn't get enough chassis  .....
were building 'em 10 at a time for a good while ...
made it economical on materials, fittings and labour, knocking 'em out in batches, much like the way I used to do trailers in bulk batches (y)

I know someone who was doing service bodies for plant gangs
Water diesel oils and the like.
He had to stop as the requirements for the underrun equipment meant buying it in at which point it became uneconomical to build them. Cheaper to strap ibcs down to a flat bed.

fortunately I was only supplying, not fitting too ... didn't want to know that bit ... we were fabricators and simply made a sub-chassis-ed unit
