it might save their lives one day and make them a lot more circumspect about overtaking trucks ....
have had three front wheel blow outs in cranes, over the years and by the time you've realised WTF is going down and begun to react you are literally across at least two lanes ... even at 40mph
reaction to action time is split seconds, but a lot happens in those few moments

Tbh looks to me like the load was strapped and as usual a company has paid a low cost fine rather than fighting it in court.

Lovely countryside, considerate drivers coming the other way , that exhaust flap not being taped down bothered me though .
Some machines do have a check valve in the silencer to stop the turbo being spun dry when being moved so perhaps nothing to disturb my sleep

Happened about 10 minutes up the road from me on a road i used to travel often. the driver said that he wasn't allowed to watch them load ad had to sit in the cab. one of the pallets was broken when they loaded it he thinks so even though he strapped it down it gave way and fell over. owner driver who normally does farm work but was doing a bit of subbie work from what i can understand will see if i can find the local paper link about it

my thoughts where the same been on military, nuclear, chemical and gas terminals and no matter what security or anyone on site has said the standard reply is nothing goes on the back of my truck with out me watching and checking it over as it is my neck on the line so some jumped up little dong on a cemex block plant wouldn't stop me as well

have been know to question the digger drivers parentage before and make him reloaded me a few times if it is not where i want it to the point the site manager was called over to tell me to take it. the trump card was calling the plant guy at the groundworks company on his personal phone and getting him to say just do as andy says or you are off site

Lorry driver I know will smash whole packs of bricks blocks and slabs if they put dodgy packs on his wagon, also seen bulk bags thrown unceremoniously in a heap if they are dodgy.
Tbh it's the way it should be, the way driver's get treated is pretty s**t

My old man did that, many moos ago when he ran a tipper, bloke in the weigh bridge office said, really sarcastically, “now then….where am I going to send you, this afternoon…..” implying he was about to fukc up his day….
Dad said “don’t worry mate, I know exactly where I’m going to tip it…” and walked out the door, knocked the lock off the tailgate as he walked past and upped the feckin lot right there n then!
