I did think the same .... brave looking for that wiv teef
Jesus why didn't you have a bucket with a blade if you knew that was down there somewhere???
There's a reason why it's only 500mm deep and put in by hand many moons ago
Bloody rocky ground comprising of granite

Doesn’t mean you don’t do everything to minimise the risk.
because he's a good operator
Was told where it was roughly with in a 10-15m area of where I'd trenched up to
I knew where it was further up the site as had exposed it few years back
I know water mains are layed dead straight down here in Cornwall so I looked for possible routes on the hedge line
The hedge is several hundreds of years old with BIG boulders in bottom row and none looked out of place and all right together so knew none of them have been moved to lay the main there was 2 places that looked out of place one further down and one near where I'd trenched up to so far that was an old gate way with granite gate posts and had been blocked up to look like a granite hedge
So that's where I took it inch by inch and came across it running through the old built up gate way
Still have to cross it 2 more times in-between where I've found it and where I know it is up top of site so will know where to roughly find it later on

If it was mine I’d definitely invest in enough straps to nail it down on all corners…

Over dodgy old asbestos reinforced bitumen I'd be going toothed too , prefer to plane upwards with a sharp new tooth and hope to pull any stone away than risk putting any pressure downwards. In my experience you can never just run a flat bucket over it without going through the horrible stuff 🤪

Did you get a choice on the logo on the boom @Hg2702? I notice you have the proper old style Cat logo not the new one.
