Had the drum mounts fail on the front drum. I guess it would be wise to replace all the mounts on both sides or is it acceptable to just replace the failed ones?

I did the front ones on my bomag 120 about 5 years ago, didn't do the back ones, and they still fine now. Doesn't get much use though.
Re - reading your post, I think you need to replace all the mounts per drum though each side while you are at it..

Thought so….just thought I would ask!!
Haven’t done these before. Did you remove the drum completely or just do one side at a time. Looks like the main frame needs to come off to get space to get the mounts in!

presumably these are similar to my ped roller -- cotton reels/bobbins screwed into drive side flange and a 'stud' screwed to other end which slips into a socket ... with the frame off carrying the drive flange it's a POP to swap the cotton reels/bobbins

On the bomag, you could do them in situ, no need to remove drum. I must admit I got local mechanic to do it, as was on a friend's farm away from me , but think he only charged £80 to change all front mounts.

that's the drive plate Dave ... drum stayed put ... looking at some net pix of said 1200 beasty .... looks similar, but hyd drive and open framed sides ... support the body and leave drum sat on the deck ... remove frame and drive motor / plate as a whole .... biggest hassle'd be the plumbing -- would need a few of @Grahams yellow butt plugs

looks to be 4 plugs and a few bolts .... looks easier than mine TBHBig job then! Lots of but plugs! But to be fair, roller is useless without job done.

Strip the plumbing out first, one side at a time. Then take the side support frames off, again, one at a time. Those frames are heavy and awkward, and although it might look like you can juggle them without disconnecting the plumbing, it’s not possible in my experience, or worth the agro.
Mark the plumbing, especially the drive side plumbing, as it is possible to get it wrong on reassembly.
That’s all from memory, mines gone now and I can’t find any decent pics, but that’s how I remember it.

I had tv 1200 and done them on mine . I didn’t take the drum off . From memory I think I took the weight off it with the digger .
It was quite easy to do from memory

I don’t think I disconnected all the hydraulics either I think I moved the whole motor

there are flexis to it but don't look long enough to give enough movement ..... but i am only looking at net images

When i took drive motor off my bomag to fix leaking seals all i did to take weight off was crowbar between drum and chassis/frame at top and put a block of wood in.

exactly how I supported my ped roller when taking the whole drive side off . also did the idler side - one at a time though
.... a lot lighter machine but the same sort of set up ... drive's a bloody heavy lump though
