I’m after a 1.5 tonne dumper . They seem to be like hens teeth to find used. Any idea what they cost new ? I had a jcb one tonne on hire recently and I wasn’t impressed . Are there any others to avoid . Any stand out good ones ?

We had 2 off them on hire on a job in findhorn they were both fairly low houred. They both were really noisy from the drive when you changed direction and both had a intermittent starting issue . They never actually broke down but they felt rough .
Do jcb build them or are they built by a different manufacturer for jcb

I’ve 2 of the 1 ton ones and been great for me not tried a 1.5 ton one though but should be pretty similar
What age are the 1 tonners that you’re running ?

I like the look of the Thwaite 2t high tip swivel, but I'm guessing probably over 20k

I've said it before but I love my little 2 ton dumper- it easily fits on my 10×5 ifor plant trailer- same width as 3 ton digger so follows it about well and quite honestly don't notice much difference in productivity over the 3 ton dumpers yet considerably more than the 1ton hi tip jobs.

Do you need to reverse it on to the trailer ? I did with the one I hired and it was very heavy on nose weight

Yes reverse it on- a tad nose heavy on the disco but if it's set so you can just get the trailer ramp up i don't find it too bad really.

Yes that looks better than mine did with the hired one . I think my ramp is higher up when it’s shut so the dumper sat further back making the nose weight worse
