From memory there is a solenoid on the pump. Has the engineer checked this?
I’ve no longer got my TV1200, but one of the last things I did to it was have the pump reconditioned, cost was circa £1250, so not a cheap fix! Be sure that it’s the pump before you send it off. As a lot of money could be spent on someone else’s hunch…..
Having said that, any decent company refurbishing it would test it first if you request so and would normally quote for the repair once it’s inspected. But there will still be costs incurred, even at this point, regardless of weather you have it rebuilt or not.
my go to place for pump inspection/repair is P&R Hydraulics in Norwich, which should still come up on google, but they are under the Pearson Hydraulics umbrella now, still the same great service
