Er no, as soon as you use a tractor for non agri forestry or fishery use it becomes a lorry & the need for a C C1 CE or C1E licence, with full tacho O licence white diesel, mot road fund licence & 6 weekly checks.

Your cat F licence only covers the exempted usage not all usage.

The Issue with tractors and enforcement is the fear of upsetting farmer one cow who's busy hauling soil away from sites.

I know of 3 local plant firms all playing this game.... high time they where f***ed over.

But I am farming.... I'm farming dirt! 😆

Purely taking the p1** here but its had the desired intention in that we've stopped bigging each other up about how many axels we run and how "overweight" we all might not be but its ok because it looks right?
Seriously gentlemen, I thought we were better than that.
Running knowingly overweight is just as bad as the guy with his tractor - although he is being safer if he strapped it down correctly!
Both outside the rules both as bad as each other. It happens, its not right, but those of us with the knowledge should be doing our best to stay within the limits

You should all be legal and run a lorry like me, you dodgy bastards.

Are we allowed to then overload the lorry ??

It does amaze me when going abroad the amount of lorrys doing what a transit would be doing here and surely for a lot of companies a hook loader or tipper and drag would be quite a useful thing being able to move machines and materials

I don't know if any one else has seen seafood digger hire on Facebook they have a very smart setup as does hill utilities

The issue with any lorry over 15t is the taxation..... I'm in two minds about whether to uprate my Foden, or sell it and drop down to a 18t or even 15t grab again..... Buying them is cheap running them is not.

Hookloaders very popular here even baby stuff like my 7.5t - ive said it before that its a no going back scénario after 20 years of sodding ramps.
Of course a bit like a third axle it eats into you payload but its worth it.
If I can be motivated to go through more hassle the intention is to go up to a bigger version that will carry an 6t machine but I've no lad following and I'm slowly running out of motivation 🤣

There are a couple of really nice 12t grabs on eBay ATM including an Isuzu 11t with 6t carry capacity, that's only 1.5t less than an 18t

Even better depending what your doing having multiple body's.
A firm round here has a 12t with a plate a dropside rubble body a high side waste skip and an insulated tarmac body.

I even saw one the other day with a little 1t hiab with clamshell mounted on a body

I thought I might end up with several bodies but at 3.5k - 4k a time you make do.
With enough will you could fab up a hut for all tools/fittings etc to drop on job or put rails on a little container etc

Lots of possibilities.

Round here a bloke I know got pulled, just told to run on white. There's a contactor with a Fastrac too, apparently he got pulled a while ago but nothing has changed and he still regularly runs 13 tonners with tiltys around on the back of it.
