It's even the same dealershi
p t I have to deal with I reckon. There are good and bad, Saltash has a few great fitters, Sam on the Hire desk is a star, as is Lauren in sales who sorted out our purchase of a ex fleet 175 within 3 days (finance and all). Les is good on the whole.
But alas I don't feel the 2 generation are worth the steam of my piss in comparison to the 1's. We are currently overhauling our 015 as the 216 doesn't float my boat and a 016 has too longer undercarriage to get in some places we need to go.
The fact of No demo doesn't surprise me :/ I'm also weighing up atm whether the joy I will get from returning the 2nd Nippon starter motor within 12 months is worth the hassle and cost of reglazing there parts department window.... It's obliterated what was a serviceable flywheel and I know the excuse will be "it must of had a tooth missing"..... have heard of several people that they have a common fault with the retaining bolts failing and allowing the whole assembly to get stuck in the ring gear.
It's a shame, I like some of the people at said branch and I really want to continue to use them.... but they seem to skirt along the boundaries of pissing me off consistently. I am staring at a bill now that has two prices on it in the same horizontal line with £30 difference between the two....

I don't really care enough to argue but if the boot was on the other foot they would be sending snotty letters as they have done before
Fortunately this year coming we will be doing far less cross hires. I also will without a doubt be sourcing a starter motor and possibly a ring gear from elsewhere

Rightly or wrongly.
TBH when you look at the backup Doobin got with his Hyundai.... It makes you question the backup around and what they stand by on a "premium" product.
Moan, Moan, Moan Moan.
