I'm working too cheap with my micro and dumper so I need to raise my prices. If I base my prices on a local hire place, not the cheapest but possibly not the most expensive and add £165 for labour I come to
£300 for micro and driver
+£80 for tracked dumper
+£45 for 30kg breaker.
All Inc vat fuel and delivery.
Does that sound reasonable/ realistic?

Don’t see why not… must say I’ve never had a single customer complain when I put prices up! Thing with micro work is you’ll never be on a site for 10 weeks doing 10hrs a day so you can’t base prices on them kind of hires so it does need to be abit more £ imo!

Just spoke to a good friend that is fully booked with a little ride-on-mower cutting grass. He is out at £55/hour and turning work down. Makes you think......

Crane driver on job yesterday got all the tickets, can drive the wagon, drive the crane, sling, check out jobs to do a load plan 14 quid an hour! f**k that

Seen one person locally charging £65 per hour or £65 for upto 100m2

The trouble with lawns is it’s the typical occupation a pensioner might offer to top up their pension and £15 is better then them sitting at home doing the crossword.

There's a bloke round here with a pickup and mower says from 3 quid. Realistically he's doing lawns for about 20 quid I think, guy from the pub uses him. Reckons he takes 20mins

I'm in Hertfordshire mate. Gardeners around here are 20-25 quid an hour and he sells it that he can cut at 4 times the speed a gardener can with an 18" push along and therefore he is good value.

There seems to be a lot of folk jumping ship and trying something different after this latest covid pandemic, it's like musical chairs , once it settles down you need to make sure you have a seat

I would have put grass cutting at £10-15 a garden. It's easy work and suitable for young or retired. Wouldn't take much to earn a decent amount whether it was earnings or beer money.
Personally would never pay more than that for it and it's insane that people seem to be willing to pay those amounts

Modern society is lazy. I pay for a window cleaner and i live in a bungalow. They charge that kind of money and don't need a mower or van/pickup/trailer
