I was hoping to pick up a Dock spotter with a perkins V8 motor, that would be least amount of work to make it into a puller

scrapped one a few years back, some of the big tugs have V8 perkins but mostly deutz, I had a V10 deutz in a Maggie 4 wheel drive truck that came from the airport

You should of said
got a cummins C18 on a compressor at the moment, it starts jet engines

go wash yer mouth out with soap ..... Cummins V8 Mike .... V555 .... I understand they were originally designed as a marine diesel and had a lot of success as race engines ..... to wind up the volume' you decrease the return line's bore size .... told they'd put out a 1000hp .... but didn't last long
the Perkins had a nasty habit of 'hunting' on a steady throttle and were a lot more fragile than Mr. C's offerings

The problem is you need to keep the engine the tractor was originally sold with, in this case the 540 v8 perky. It’s a MF 1155 base tractor..

LOL ..... V12 Deutz, on straight stacks'd make a hell of an alarm clock ....... might piss a few people off though
they're just a lovely simple, good looking engine ..... you could listen to all day

The next video looked fun as well. Leibherr 984 cross bed on a lowloader that looked way under spec.

Saw a Cat 988 on a lowloader Wednesday. They had removed the cab to get under bridges. Looked a real beast.

used to use them air starts when i work at the airport had some power in them we had to trailer mounted ones that could jump start a 737 alone each or as a pair they could start a 757. We also had a bedford tk mounted one that was a beast we could use that to one to start up to 767 size alone

She kick starts jumbo's at heathrow

Yea that compressor was on the back of a volvo F7 fair old lump been bid £4K for it
